De-Stress

From 1st to 7th December, it’s Anger Awareness Week. Its aim is to identify anger as a disturbing social issue that needs to be brought out into the open and effectively addressed. Of course, it is a disturbing social issue with the modern world’s increase in domestic violence, youth crime, classroom disturbances, stress-related illnesses and such as road rage.

Just four weeks left!

Every year it seems to come round even more swiftly. Yes, it’s only a month until the big day of too much: too much dinner, too much drinking, too much television. And usually not enough exercising or healthy living…

Change

This week it is Alcohol Awareness Week, and this year the theme of Alcohol Awareness Week is “Change”. That’s because too often in British culture drinking is seen as an expectation, rather than a choice. There’s pressure to drink when out with people. The pub is a convenient place to meet, and of course, pubs serve alcohol.

Self Care Week

It’s Self Care Week this week when people are being encouraged to choose self-care for a healthier and happier life. Self Care Week is an annual national awareness week that focuses on encouraging self-care across communities, families and generations.

Movember

It’s considered that a man’s November moustache – called a “mo” for short – is a ribbon, in a similar way that other awareness campaigns have coloured ribbons. Men who “wear” this month-long ribbon are known as “Mo Bros”!

Push Yourself That Extra Mile

It’s that time of the year when winter truly begins – this Sunday the clocks change. So it’s going to be darker even sooner… And getting colder day by day… Let’s comfort ourselves then at the thought of drinking a hot chocolate in front of a roaring fire, and wrapping up in our favourite jacket and scarf once again.

We absolutely love this

We absolutely love this! National Baking Week starts today – and it’s not just about making mouthwatering baking creations: it’s about having fun and enjoying time together with your favourite people while you create and bake.

Keep Ourselves Fit and Healthy

World Mental Health Day is on 10th October this year. It’s never been more important as rates of depression, anxiety and suicide continue to rise. And increasingly the experts are proving how essential it is that we keep ourselves fit and healthy: our physical wellbeing has a huge influence on our mental wellbeing.

National Work Life Week

This week it’s National Work Life Week that’s been created as a chance for both employers and employees to focus on well-being at work and the vital but often overlooked work-life balance. In today’s bustling modern world it’s something so many of us definitely need to keep in mind.
