Push Yourself That Extra Mile

Keep Motivated this Autumn & Winter - NRG Gym Health Advice

It’s that time of the year when winter truly begins – this Sunday the clocks change. So it’s going to be darker even sooner… And getting colder day by day… Let’s comfort ourselves then at the thought of drinking a hot chocolate in front of a roaring fire, and wrapping up in our favourite jacket and scarf once again.

But beware because less light and more cold weather can affect our body and mind and make us feel more lethargic. Or just get lazy!

That’s why now is the time to push yourself that extra mile, walk the road less traveled – and start to make sure you’re looking and feeling in top shape for the shortest day of the year on 21st December. And that means you’ll be looking and feeling great over the holiday season. From then on of course as well the daylight hours will start stretching out again.

Talking of stretching, remember that our state-of-the-art gyms in Watford and Gravesend have a stretch and strength zone, two fantastic studios with more than 30 free classes, more than 150 pieces of equipment including free weights, personal trainers, 24/7 full access, plus free parking.

As it’s darker and we’re all wrapped up so much, and eating more stodgy food too, we know it’s a time of the year when it’s all too easy to let health and fitness slip away. So instead, our advice is to really go for it, push yourself that bit more – then when the clocks change again in the springtime you’ll be shining brightly and more than ready for the T-shirt weather.
