Schools Out

School’s out (for what seems) forever! At least for many schools in the UK it’s the beginning of several weeks of holidays. And who doesn’t remember the joy felt at the start of the school summer holidays? Didn’t those holidays when you were a child just stretch on and on, days of endless fun…
World Cup Final

You are either love this year’s World Cup football fest in Russia – or can’t wait for it to end! If you fall into the latter category, don’t worry, because it is nearly over…
World Chocolate Day

It’s a day for all things cocoa-based. And while chocolate may often contain a large number of calories and be loaded with too much sugar it also has considerable health benefits – as well as being just about the tastiest stuff on the planet!
International Sunglasses Day

It’s time to not only look cool, but also let people know you’re more than just a pretty face… on International Sunglasses Day 2018 on 27th June.
Men’s Health Week

From the 11th to 17th June it’s Men’s Health Week, a time of awareness for health issues that disproportionately affect men. This year the week of male health awareness coincides with Diabetes Week. It’s a timely coincidence.
Summer Strength

It’s June and, in theory, at least, that means – here comes the summer! And who doesn’t want to look their best when the sun shines? Or when we’re lucky enough to sunbathe on a beach or around the pool on holiday?
National BBQ Week

All this week the country is celebrating National BBQ Week, when the air will be filled with the smells and sounds of summer… the great British weather permitting! BBQs in Britain used to be about crusty charcoal, lots of smoke and burnt burgers. Now with even the celebrity chefs singing the praises of BBQs, the nation has come a long way.
Packed with Vitamins

It’s British Tomato Week, set up as a kickstart for us all to eat more tomatoes. And why not? They’re a great source of vitamins A, B6, C, E and K, copper, potassium and niacin to name but a few health benefits of the humble tomato.
Final Whistle

So the final whistle has just blown on the last weekend of the Premier League football season, and another load of football is over… Well, almost!
On Wednesday 16th May it’s Marseille v Atletico Madrid in the Europa League Final; then Saturday 19th May sees the FA Cup Final between Manchester United and Chelsea. The following weekend on the 26th May it’s the Champions League Final between Real Madrid and Liverpool.
Sun Awareness Week

This week it’s Sun Awareness Week. With good reason – despite all the information out there 35 per cent of Brits have got sunburnt in the past year. And that’s just while in Britain!
British people are even more likely to get sunburnt abroad, with nearly half who’ve been abroad in the past 12 months getting sunburnt. This is all according to a survey carried out by the British Association of Dermatologists that has organised the awareness week.
