Spring Equinox

Get Fit this Spring - NRG Gym Health Advice

Spring Equinox – the first day of spring! – is this week, on 20th March. On this day the sun crosses the celestial equator going from south to north.

What that means to us is that the sun is rising sooner and it’s setting later. And that means more daytime and hopefully more sunshine and warmth too!

So, if you’re feeling optimistic, you can pack away your winter coats, pullovers and boots and bring out the shorts, vests and flip-flops. So what better time then than now to get fitter and keep getting fitter?

Here are some perfect springtime tone-up tips for you:

  • If those shorts are going on, then that means those legs are coming out… There are many gym exercises that will have you (and others!) noticing great results on your thighs and calfs very swiftly. These include various squats as well as leg presses. Ask our friendly staff in the gym for what can specifically help you achieve your goals.
  • Pecs and lats look so much better if toned – lat pulldowns, rowing, dips and bench presses are the best for achieving this.
  • Arms simply have to look good! Luckily, there are many training methods for you to tone your biceps, triceps, shoulders and forearms including such as curls, front raises and bench dips. Weights exercises will tone up anyone’s arms.
  • Remember your bum too! Exercises that replace the buttock wobble with muscle include treadmill work, squat thrusts and back squats.

Our excellent gyms in Watford and Gravesend are open for you 24 hours a day and every day of the week. This spring come down to join us – and put a spring in your step.
