AN UPDATE FROM OUR FOUNDER & CEO

To our NRG Family Members,

As we enter our seventh week of temporary gym closure, I wanted to provide an update on what’s been happening at NRG GYM as we look towards plans for post-lockdown.

First and foremost, it’s you, our NRG community, that keeps the gyms going and we want to ensure that we’re doing all that we can to keep you safe. Your health and wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re working hard behind the scenes to start to get the clubs ready for reopening once we are given the plans from government about when and how we are able to open our doors again.

Whilst we await further guidelines, our team have been onsite and already starting to prepare for post-lockdown, with work being done to all four of our gyms.

At Gravesend, we’ve been able to continue with a small construction team working to social distancing guidelines and the new mezzanine floor is starting to really take shape. The new space will be home to an upgraded female training zone and functional fitness area, and we are aiming to complete as much of the work as we can before reopening to ensure minimal disruption for members.

The Watford gym will also be undergoing refurbishments in the coming weeks which will include new gym equipment and an even better gym experience for our members – keep an eye out on our social channels for updates!

We have also ordered some fantastic new gym equipment for Walsall, which we hope to have in place in time for reopening.

It was with a heavy heart that we had to temporarily close Lewisham just one month after opening – it’s a fantastic club and we can’t wait to open our doors again and get you all back in the gym!

Our cleaning schedules at all gyms had already been increased before lockdown and we will maintain this when we reopen. Following the impending government update on Sunday, we will be able to provide you with more information in due course but rest assured, it is the health and safety of our members and staff that is at the forefront of our minds and plans.

To confirm, all direct debits will continue to be frozen until your gym reopens and members who had paid for a full month before we closed in March will receive the time owed once we reopen – we will communicate plans around this as soon as we are able.

We hope you’ve been able to stay active during this time; our home workout plans are still available for members via the NRG GYM app and our club teams have also been doing an amazing job of delivering live workouts and sharing WODs via their social channels. It’s been fantastic to see the feedback and I’m incredibly proud of all our gym staff in their efforts to support our members at this time, and all the members that we know are working hard to maintain their fitness levels while at home.

Whilst our doors may be (temporarily) closed, we’re still here to answer any questions so you can e-mail your gym directly here or get in touch via our social media channels if you have any questions about our plans for reopening.

In the meantime, rest assured you’ll be the first to know our plans as soon as we are able to share them. While we are mindful of the short term challenges we all face, we’ve got lots of exciting things to come for NRG GYM and together, we will get through this.

Stay safe and keep active and we look forward to welcoming you back to your club soon.
