A Healthy Heart Isn’t Just For Valentine’s Day

It must be love, love, love – nothing more, nothing less – love is the best!

Yes, it’s Valentine’s Day this week – on the 14th in case you’d forgotten or somehow not noticed all those red and pink love hearts in the shop windows…

While we’re on matters of the heart, here are some reasons why a love of the gym is nothing but good for your heart:

  • The heart is a muscular organ that pumps blood to and from all areas of your body. Like any muscle, the stronger it is the better and more efficiently it works. You can build yourself a strong heart starting today by getting to the gym. Any exercise will help strengthen it, but if in need of advice just ask one of our friendly expert staff members.
  • The NHS recommends at least 30 minutes of exercise for five days of the week to make your heart beat better and to lose weight and lower blood pressure.
  • A strong heart means your blood will pump round much more efficiently and that will help with everything from beating off infections to getting up a flight fo stairs without feeling breathless at the top.
  • Getting in shape at the gym will make you feel better about yourself, and this will boost your happiness – which has been shown to be a boost to having a healthy heart. Being around other positive people is a super boost too – our team and the other fit people at the gym will get you heart beating fast!

Remember, while it’s lovely to be in love, it’s essential to show yourself some self-love too. And we’d love to see you today!
