NRG GYMS are reopening on Wednesday 2nd December!
Whether you’re an existing member or looking to join one of our gyms, the following information should answer any questions you have now our gyms are back open.
AS AN EXISTING MEMBER, WHAT’S HAPPENED TO MY MEMBERSHIP?
If you are currently a member, your membership will be reactivated on the current re-opening scheduled date of 2nd December. This means you’ll have immediate access to the gym, all equipment and performance zones.
It also means that any direct debit payments will continue to be taken out on the same day of the month as before.
I AM NOT A MEMBER YET. CAN I NOW JOIN?
Yes you can! We’re also currently running an exclusive offer which means if you join now you’ll pay just £9.99 for the first month. Simply sign up online and your membership will start straight away.
What are the gyms' opening hours?
In line with government guidelines, all NRG GYMs will reopen on Wednesday 2nd December at 7.00 am and are planned to commence 24 hours availability from this date.
Will I Have to book a slot to visit the gym?
You won’t need to book a time slot to use the gym, but all members must use the pin entry system to gain access, as this is essential for us to manage and review ongoing capacities as well as to adhere to the government’s strict Track and Trace requirements.
We will not be putting a time cap on the time you spend in the gym. We believe the gyms are big enough to ensure everyone that wants to train can, while we will continue to monitor usage levels to ensure we don’t exceed the maximum number of people training at any one time based on the governments guidelines.
What do I do if I have forgotten my pin number?
It is essential that we are able to monitor usage and capacities as well as adhering to the government’s Track and Trace guidelines, hence the requirements to use the pin entry system on arrival. If you have forgotten your pin number, you can email your respective gym in advance of opening and they will send this to you.
If you arrive and you do not know your pin number, you can request assistance at the front entrance and a member of the team will be able to share with you your pin number before you are allowed to gain entry.
Will i be required to wear a mask whilst using the gym?
Masks are currently not a requirement of the latest government guidelines on the use of indoor fitness facilities and therefore wearing a mask while in the gym is not a requirement.
WHAT CHANGES WILL I NOTICE IN THE GYM?
We have tried to keep the changes to the gyms to a minimum whilst ensuring that in every area of the gym, we meet the latest government guidelines to ensure you can train safely.
This means that some equipment will be out of use to help maintain appropriate social distancing. Punch bags will be available to use but you must use your own boxing gloves. ‘One on one’ pad work will not be permitted until further notice.
DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING DIFFERENTLY WHEN TRAINING IN THE GYM?
Our main requests will be to maintain social distancing at all times, to clean your hands regularly and/or use hand sanitiser throughout your workout and to clean all equipment (including weights, functional equipment and mats) after use, using the materials provided in each zone.
Water fountains will be in use but only to fill up your own water bottle. Alternatively, vending machines will still be in use and cleaned regularly allowing you access to bottled water.
We will also ask all our members that feel ill, have a fever or any other potential COVID-19 symptoms to stay at home and maintain appropriate social distancing and self-isolation.
WILL THE CHANGING ROOMS BE OPEN?
The changing rooms including showers will be open but we would ask that you limit use of the changing rooms and we encourage you to come to the gym changed and ready to train. If you can’t then the changing rooms remain open for use and will be cleaned regularly by our team.
Saunas will now be available in the Lewisham and Watford sites. When using the sauna we ask all members to please abide by the social distancing guidelines. Saunas will remain closed in the Gravesend and Walsall sites until further notice until it is safe for us to open these facilities again.
ARE GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES RUNNING?
Due government tier restrictions, classes will be running classes in the Lewisham and Watford sites only.
Capacities will be reduced to maintain social distancing so please book early via the app to avoid disappointment. The new timetable will be available and updated via your gym’s specific webpage.
ARE THE MMA GYMS AT NRG GYM WATFORD AND LEWISHAM OPEN?
Yes – these facilities are governed by the UK government’s guidelines on elite athlete training. If you have any specific questions, please contact the gym directly.
I AM UNSURE / UNABLE TO COME BACK TO THE GYM YET. CAN MY MEMBERSHIP STAY FROZEN?
Yes it can. We know that for some members the timing to re-join won’t be right just now and so we are happy to continue to keep any existing gym membership frozen. Just email your gym directly and they will be able to assist with this request. Click here to contact the gyms by email.
WHO DO I CONTACT IF I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT RE-OPENING?
Just email your individual gym or message your gym on social media and we will aim to get back to you as soon as we can.
