National BBQ Week

All this week the country is celebrating National BBQ Week, when the air will be filled with the smells and sounds of summer… the great British weather permitting! BBQs in Britain used to be about crusty charcoal, lots of smoke and burnt burgers. Now with even the celebrity chefs singing the praises of BBQs, the nation has come a long way.

Packed with Vitamins

It’s British Tomato Week, set up as a kickstart for us all to eat more tomatoes. And why not? They’re a great source of vitamins A, B6, C, E and K, copper, potassium and niacin to name but a few health benefits of the humble tomato.

Final Whistle

So the final whistle has just blown on the last weekend of the Premier League football season, and another load of football is over… Well, almost!

On Wednesday 16th May it’s Marseille v Atletico Madrid in the Europa League Final; then Saturday 19th May sees the FA Cup Final between Manchester United and Chelsea. The following weekend on the 26th May it’s the Champions League Final between Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Sun Awareness Week

This week it’s Sun Awareness Week. With good reason – despite all the information out there 35 per cent of Brits have got sunburnt in the past year. And that’s just while in Britain!

British people are even more likely to get sunburnt abroad, with nearly half who’ve been abroad in the past 12 months getting sunburnt. This is all according to a survey carried out by the British Association of Dermatologists that has organised the awareness week.
